Volunteer Insurance - Access for Insurance Agents
PRODUCER'S AGREEMENT
This agreement is between Corporate Insurance Management, Inc. (CIM) and the producer accessing insurance coverages through the Volunteers Insurance Service Association, Inc. program administered by CIM. Execution of the agreement entitles the producer to receive 12 percent of the premium on any volunteer insurance policies CIM issues as a result of applications submitted by the producer, for customers not already purchasing volunteer insurance through CIM.
Please read the following conditions and, if they are acceptable, click the "I Agree" button at the end of the agreement. If you have any questions, please email your questions to lcoleman@cimaworld.com. No application can be processed until this agreement has been executed.
Producer warrants that it shall comply with the laws, rules and regulations of the governmental jurisdictions within which it solicits or accepts insurance business submitted to CIM under this agreement, and shall maintain all licenses required. The producer will provide copies of those licenses if CIM requests them, and this agreement is terminated if the licenses are canceled or not renewed.
Producer warrants that it has, and will maintain while this agreement is in effect, professional liability (errors and omissions) insurance, through a licensed insurance company, for limits of at least $1 million each claim/$1 million aggregate. The producer will provide evidence of that coverage if CIM requests it, and this agreement will be terminated immediately if the coverage is not maintained.
The producer and CIM each agree to indemnify, defend and hold the other harmless for any civil, contractual or other liability for damages and expenses, including legal fees, resulting from an alleged error or omission by the other party, or breach of this agreement by the other party.
The producer is not an employee, agent or authorized representative of CIM or any insurer represented by CIM within the scope of the volunteer insurance program.
The producer has no authority to bind coverage for volunteer insurance, alter any policies or handle any claims.
When CIM receives payment for the full amount of premium due on an accepted application, it will bind coverage effective on the first day of the following month.
All policies renew each July 1 and rates and minimum premiums are subject to change on that date. CIM handles renewals directly with the insured organization.
For both new business and renewals, CIM will pay the producer 12 percent of the premium. The producer receives no part of the VIS membership fee.
If the producer submits an application on behalf of an organization that already participates in the volunteer insurance program, CIM will notify the producer and, if requested, provide evidence that the organization already participates.
Either party may terminate this agreement by giving the other party sixty days advance written notice. Notice to CIM should be directed to:
