LAURIE S. COLEMAN
President & CEO

Laurie has overall responsibilities for the operation of CIMA. In addition, she oversees all CIMA’s property and casualty insurance divisions, as well as CIMA’s property and casualty insurance programs that are designed for group participation.

Laurie also serves as President of CIMA’s subsidiary, XS/Group, Inc., and has lead responsibility for negotiating rates and enhancements with each program’s underwriters. Although it is rare for Lloyd’s of London syndicates to cede underwriting authority, Laurie’s years of experience have earned her the distinction of being one of the few brokers named with underwriting authority by Lloyd’s under six separate coverslips.

Laurie joined CIMA in 1980. During her tenure, Laurie has had responsibility in a number of other areas, including commercial property and casualty accounts, claims and employee benefits.

DAVID R. BRANTLINGER
Executive Vice President

David works closely with Laurie Coleman overseeing the agency’s operation. David is also responsible for the overall management of CIMA’s Personal Lines and Employee Benefit Departments, and serves as lead representative for our larger employee benefit accounts.   He joined CIMA in 1987 as Employee Benefits Manager, following three and a half years of servicing and marketing experience with a national life and health insurer.   David has a degree in Political Science from Wittenberg University.

WILLIAM C. GROVES, CIC
Senior Vice President

Bill first came to CIMA in 1979.  Prior to working at CIMA, Bill was a surety underwriter with a leading surety company and subsequently worked for an independent agency specializing in the construction industry.  Bill’s responsibilities include leading our Construction & Bond department and providing services related to both property/casualty insurance and surety needs of CIMA’s construction customers, and became a shareholder of CIMA as well as Senior Vice President.  He received his B.S. in Business Administration, cum laude, from the University of Maryland and has held the Certified Insurance Counselor designation since 1994. Bill served our country in the infantry as a Marine in Vietnam.

TRACY WARD DENMAN, CIC
Vice President

Tracy joined CIMA on 1992 after working on both the company and agency sides of the business. Tracy works closely with the London markets on open market placements and managing binding authorities. Most of her time is spent on surplus lines placements. She is a summa cum laude graduate of Towson University with a degree in Business Administration, and has held the Certified Insurance Counselor designation since 1995.

KACIE J. GREENWOOD, CLCS
Vice President

Kacie joined CIMA in 2007, continuing a lengthy insurance career that includes carrier experience as well as agent and broker experience, in various locations nationwide. Her specialties include workers’ compensation and designing comprehensive insurance programs for nonprofit organizations, public entities, technology companies, and government contractors, and more. She serves a number of our larger customers. Kacie is a Phi Beta Kappa, Cum Laude graduate of Washington State University, with a degree in Business Communications. She is pursuing both her CIC and CPCU designations.

JESSICA PITTMAN
Vice President

Jessica joined CIMA in 2008. Prior to joining CIMA, she had a career in finance. She specializes in property and casualty insurance programs for non-profit organizations, business management and consultants, and a variety of other industries.

MICHELLE ROARK
Vice President

Michelle joined the CIMA team in 2021 with over 14 years of experience in the insurance industry. She is a graduate of Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Connecticut and has earned the CLCS (Commercial Lines Coverage Specialist), AAI (Accredited Advisor in Insurance) and CRIS (Construction Risk and Insurance Specialist) designations while growing her career in the insurance industry. Her experience includes extensive knowledge with non-profits, construction and technology. In her free time she loves to play volleyball, spend time with her family and cheer on the Birds of Baltimore!

DEBORAH H. CUSTIS, ACSR, MLIS
Assistant Vice President

Debbie joined CIMA in 1985 and has over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry. Her specialties include professional liability, employment practices liability and more. She also manages our program that offers professional liability insurance for pension professionals and pension actuaries. Debbie was promoted to Assistant Vice President in 2023. Debbie holds the professional designations of Management Liability Insurance Specialist and Accredited Customer Service Representative.

AARON JONES
Assistant Vice President

Aaron joined CIMA in 2006. He works primary with non-profit organizations handling their Directors and Officers Insurance. He also manages a Professional Liability program for Legal Service/Aid organizations. He was promoted in 2021 to the position of Assistant Vice President as well as being named as an underwriter with Lloyd’s of London on the PL program. Aaron graduated from Penn State University and has completed numerous continuing education courses through The Hartford School of Insurance’s Commercial Lines Customer Service/Account Manager Program.

BECKY RYAN
Assistant Vice President

Becky joined CIMA in 2001 following nine years of experience with a large national insurance company. She provides employee benefit services to employers of all sizes, specializing in group medical, dental, vision, life and disability coverages. In 2018 Becky was promoted to the position of Assistant Vice President. She has a degree in Business Administration from the University of Charleston where she received a scholarship to play softball.

CYNTHIA S. LEWIS
Director of Corporate Affairs & Assistant Secretary

Cindy is responsible for contracts, licensing, compliance management, various aspects of human resources, corporate affairs, and also serves as Assistant Secretary of the company. Her career at CIMA began in 1977, when she was an administrative assistant to the founder, A. L. Jagoe. Cindy earned her associate in arts degree in Business Administration from Prince George’s Community College.
